How to disable GTI integration ?

Jump to solution

Hi everyone,

In the NSP docs we may see statements such as this one:

"When you install the Manager for the first time, it is automatically integrated with McAfee Global Threat
Intelligence to send your alert, general setup, and feature usage data to McAfee for optimized protection. If you do not wish to send these data, then disable the integration with Global Threat Intelligence."

What's the procedure to "disable the integration with Global Threat Intelligence" ?

Is it enough to do the "set gam-airgap-network enable" procedure on the sensors, and the associated steps, related to GAM ?

And, what capabilities are lost if there is no GTI connection ? Is it only the "real time update" capability that is lost ? That is, does the GAM manual update procedure offer all that GTI would provide, only not in real time ?

Thank you in advance for an answer !

Lucian

Hi @luciangb

You may disable Telemetry option under Manager tab which sends data to the McAfee servers. If you are using GTI for malware inspection, uncheck the option of 'GTI' from advanced malware policy.

You can enable Gateway Anti-Malware update in an air gapped network by executing the set gam-airgap-network enable command in the Sensor CLI and reboot the Sensor for the changes to take effect.

Faizan
