Hello,

This command will show you any large files in /var/spool that might be filling it up, unfortunately it won't really help if there are a ton of small files filling it:

du -a /var/spool|sort -nrk 1|less

You may want to check the mail queues (/var/spool/mqueue.*) for mail that is stuck in the queue.

is appropriate to delete the file mqueue.2?

can do the following steps?

sendmail stop, delete mqueue.2 and then start sendmail daemond again?

Re: fail sending email

Hello,

It appears that the mqueue.2 directory is full of undelivered mail, which is filling up the partition. If you do not care about the mail, you can delete it using the following commands:

###########################################################################

Disable Sendmail and then use one of the following options (where x is the burb where mail is queued):

To delete files which have not been modified in more than a day:

find /var/spool/mqueue.x -name "*" -mtime +1 | xargs rm -f

To delete all of the files:

find /var/spool/mqueue.x -name "*" -print | xargs rm -f

To delete all of the files:

cd /var/spool/mqueue.x
ls | xargs rm

NOTE:
This deletes anything that shows up in the ls output.

If the previous options fail for any reason, use the following script to delete all of the files, printing a "." for every file deleted:

cd /var/spool/mqueue.x
sh
for x in *
do
echo -n .
rm $x
done

###########################################################################

If you want the mail to be delivered then we are going to need to know why it is stuck in the queue. The /var/log/maillog file and "mailq" are useful it determining the problem.

we can delete the files that fill the var / spool.

is posssible delete all files in Mqueue.2 , but you need to identify:

Why is full?

What is a solution?

What settings us can apply in mqueue.2,to not repeat this issue?
