Use of Generic tab in Application defenses

Hi Everyone,

I am new to Mcafee world.

Under Application defenses i see lot of applications like http,ftp,generic etc.

Generic has tab that shows required need to understand why it has required there?

What is purpose of all these application defenses and how we use them?

Hi Mike,

With application defenses, you configure for example if a proxy or packet filter will be used for a rule, if it is a proxy - will it accept transparent or non-transparent, what kind of filtering/scanning will be done (smartfilter, av-scanning, etc). There is to much to this to write it down here.
