Jump to solution

Hi,everybody..

When I enabled Anti-Virus Scanning on ACL,I found it running proxy mode to handle virus....So, can firewall handle virus just like EWSA transparent bridge mode?

     Thanks!

Proxy mode on the Firewall isn't quite the same as running EWS as an explicit proxy.

Unless the associated "Generic" application defense is set to non-transparent, the traffic will pass through the Firewall transparently (as far as the end user is concerned), it just that it must be handled by the proxy element, rather than a lower-intelligent packet filter ('connection settings' application defense) so that the Firewall can invoke the AV engine.
