Seems like something in the P08 patch it doesn't like.

Are you running hosted sendmail on this firewall? Or is it just a transparent configuration?

Also can you double check what you have your alerts emails set to send to, I can't remember for sure where this is located in 7.x, but in v8 it's in System Responses -> Response settings (bottom right) and you can specify different email addresses. It might be here in version 7, or you can check the sendmail service options.

I had one issue where there was an improper email address in there are it caused issues for upgrade.

I disabled the "System responses" and changed the configuration of the mail server and completed without error process.

Thank's

I have another problem ..

I do not have enough space on the / var partition to install the 8.3.0 patch.

Do you know how to delete obsolete patch?

If I try to do not let me !!

I also tried to move the / var partition, but on the other will not let m

That works, you can also remove obsolete packages using 'cf package remove=PACKAGE'

Good luck with the rest.

I have two other serious problems!

I can not run the package upgrade or configuration backup, because the partition where the directory / var does not have enough space.

I delete all files to free the partition but this fills up before the backup process is concluded.

I can perform an increase of the space of this partition?

I also tried to install the package 8.3.0 on a virtual appliance 8.2.1P08, and not complete the installation, as indicating that the Virtual Appliance is 32-bit.

But this really is not true!

You have solutions for me?

Thank you

What are you running the virtual on?  It's possible all the virtualization options aren't enabled in the BIOS, or that the specific hardware isn't working properly with the installation and only detecting as 32bit.

Are there any other backups on the appliance as well? Or that's the first you are running? You could run a DR backup to a USB instead to get around that.

how much disk space did you allocate for the VM? Can you run a du -h ? The /var/log should have at least 16GB total

The virtual appliance has been imported as OVF (forcepoint virtual appliance)

then with the default configuration set by forcepoint.

The hypervisor is VMware esxi 6 and VM is identified as freebsd x64.

in / var / backups I deleted all backups, both in repositories, both in workdir.

I was trying to run the restore of a vm 8.2.1 configuration backup on a vm 8.3, but this fills the filesystem on the / var / backups.

The following info on the space available on the various partitions.

Filesystem     Size    Used   Avail Capacity  Mounted on

/dev/da0s3a    155M     25M    117M    18%    /

devfs          1.0K    1.0K      0B   100%    /dev

/dev/da0s4h    1.2G    850M    289M    75%    /home

Those partitions are very small, I'm not sure why they would build an ovf out with those parameters.

Also I would only recommend loading the backup from same to same version

Just checked the Forcepoint support site and noticed they don't have archived iso's of any past versions, just 7.0.1.03 and 8.3.2 installs.

I'm pretty sure you can use the standard ISO to install the Sidewinder onto esx as well (esxi should be an allowed install hardware, even with the standard install ISO), so if you had the 8.2.1 ISO you could build from that. (If you need archived ISO's you'll probably have to open a ticket and request them, unless you have a USB or DVD with them handy)

Also, if you need individual packages (the ISO's aren't here though) you can download the packages from: ftp://downloads.securecomputing.com/packages/firewall/        You can then scp them over to the firewall and load them via the command line, example:

(make sure you copy them to a privileged directory first such as /var/tmp or /var/log)

scp them to /tmp or /home, then

cp 8.* /var/tmp

cf package load packages=8.3.0 source=file directory=/var/tmp force=on

Then you can do a cf package install, or do it from the GUI.

Good morning
I understood my problem of not recognized platform.
I have recreated the virtual appliance by installing them using the ISO image, so I passed the problerema of the partition / var fill, however, it remains the problem of the 32-bit platform does not supporttata sidewinder from version 8.3.

The Iso sidewinder 7.0.1.3 imagine file is 32bit, up to 8.2.1P08 version, the 32bit version is maintained, then it necessarily passes from 8.3 to 64 bits, and it is for this reason that you are unable to perform ' upgrade.
The solution is
I run the command "touch / VT_ENABLED"

Easy ... right?

So simple, ahha.

Yeah I don't think the Virtual images have had that much use. I had issues before so I always just do a build from the iso.

Hope everything works now!

Cheers,

Pete
