Unable to Uninstall McAfee Family Protection

Jump to solution

Hello,

My Mcafee Family Protection and Internet Security had a big problem.

They don't work proprely anymore. I can see the Mcafee services runnig on the computer, but the control panels are stuck.

I can't acces the internet anymore, I think it's because of Mcafee; when I lauch the computer with an other system like Ubuntu, I can acces the internet.

I tried to uninstall all Mcafee with MCPR, but it's asking me for a Username and a password. But I don't remember them anymore.

After trying once, it ask's me for a "Uninstall Code" and it clearly says : If you are unable to access Administration area, please contact MCAfee support to obtain unistall code"

Here is a screen shot : http://www.anony.ws/i/2013/04/04/ILzKZ.png

Thanks for your help,

@karthiks : It's Windows 8 x64.

@Peacekeeper :

It's impossible for me to follow this procedure : http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS100686

When I double click on the Family Protection icon in my taskbar, a blank page appears (it's the window you can see in the background of my screenshot : http://www.anony.ws/i/2013/04/04/ILzKZ.png)

When I try to uninstall it through the "Program and Features", the same thing appens; I have a blank page that appears.

I resolved the problem by using the Refresh fonction of Windows 8 : http://botcrawl.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Refresh-Reset-Windows-8.png

It reset all the Mcafee program and deleted the username and password. I was able to use MCPR.

That was what you were trying to follow.

Yes call Mcafee support and see what they can do to assist.
