windows 2008 server R2 service pack1 infected with W32/Conficker.worm.gen.a

Hello

Mcafee antivirus reported that windows 2008 server R2 service pack 1 infected with

W32/Conficker.worm.gen.a

C:\Windows\System32\jsxnryl.p

Is this possible? I understand the above system is protected from the above virus! Anyone has explanation for this.

Thanks for your help

This could be a new variant, despite the identification as gen.a (which has been known since 2009) - best see the Conficker.worm overview at https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB60909, which has links for removing an infection :

IMPORTANT: See the Combating W32 Conficker worm document attached to this article for detailed information on detecting and removing the W32/Conficker.worm.
