I am getting e-mails from my son for tabletsbargainsdrugdirect dot com and tablethealthmedicationssite.com twice a day each. These e-mails are going out to his entire address book. Has anyone seen the same and is there a documented fix for this?

I broke that link in your post, just in case. I also moved this to Malware Discussions.
If your son's anti-virus isn't catching anything then I suggest he download, install, update (very important) and run the FREE version of THIS software. Let it remove everything it finds and reboot immediately if asked.
There are some 'worms' out there that cause this. It might be an idea for anyone he fequently emails to also do the same as the worms can spoof the sender's email address, so the emails don't necessarily originate where one thinks.
It's also very important that ones machine be kept totally up to date at all times.
Thanks, we'll give it a shot. It is changing the links as well. I will check back in and let you know if it fixes it and sorry about leaving the whole link, I should have known better.
No problem and good luck. Incidentally that software will do all the above in "Safe Mode with Networking" if necessary - if for instance the malware prevents it from installing or running.
We folowed your advise and although it did find some things to remove, he still cannot get updates for Windows Defender or any AV program. Odd. Unfortunately he doesn't live here so I am just the middle man.
Ok, thanks for your help. I think we may have removed part of the problem as I stopped recieving the e-mails, so thanks at least for that. Have a good rest of the weekend.
A thought that may or may not help. Has he tried System Restore to before all this happened? Of course he will then have to update McAfee and possible also Windows afterwards.
I had the same thought late last night. The e-mails have stopped happening, so the AV picked up the problem. The updating problem could be old and what caused this whole problem. I thought of the System Restore as well. Great advice and I think I have it now. Again, thanks for all of your help. I know everyone of his contacts thanks you too.
