mcafee total protection main screen

your computer is at risk... in red... across the top...

the virus and spyware protection box

says issues found...

when you click on it it shows this...

In SecurityCenter go to Navigation > Quarantined and Trusted Items, and see what is in there.

all i have there are two items on the trusted list

that i put there during the scan this morning...

maybe it didn't like that...

Probably.  Besides you can only trust something that has been identified as a PUP (Possibly Unwanted Program) - if it was detected as something worse then the trusting has no effect.

these are old joke programs for windows 3.1

i wanted to see what they are...

i thought if i put them on the trusted list

i could keep them...

Not sure what to advise in that case.  Did you run Malwarebytes Free as suggested?

it's all green now...

found out what it was...

site advisor wasn't on

i never turned it on

never installed it

never checked the box...

it installed itself anyway

then a message popped up

to turn it on so i did...

i've uninstalled it before

and it never complained

and i never had any trouble...

i never installed it

cause i didn't want to
