Solved! Go to Solution.
I will ask but if they are shown as PUPs (Potentially Unwanted programs) it may be hard to change unless you change the worrying action of the program that causes the classification.

Oh could be several causes
1 File zipped incorrectly with no password or not passworded with infected as password
2. File greater than 10Mb zipped though Mcafee was intending to increase this value.
To proceed load the file into www,virustotal.com and link to the results so I or a mod can forward it up the line.
thanks for reply,
i have 4 files flagged by mcafee
Forwarded to Mcafee team Should have an answer in 3 days or so
thanks Peacekeeper
appreciate it
Ticket #: AM001897 - 4 false detections
"Two of the hashes you provided are for older variants and McAfee added PUP detection for those as ReImage. The last two hashes are clean and have been resolved through AppESteem."
That is what I received back
Hi PeaceKepper,
much appreciate your help!
how could i whitelist those 2 files?
You can exclude the files from scanning that sometimes works .This in Real time scanning excluded files. PUPS Should give a popup to allow you to Accept them but I am really not well up with virus detection sorry.
I seem to remember Such files popup an option to trust them. At least Mcafee did a few years back
i know that, thanks.
im the owner of the software, and we have thoused of users that install it each day.
we would like to solve this issue with Mcafee
do you know a way to ask, how could we solve the detection of the 2 files.
thanks
