Did you mean:

dmcomposw.dll

I have a virus that McAfee has not been able to clean, or delete. Here is the message I get:

We were unable to delete the infected file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\dmcomposw.dll) from your PC.

RE: dmcomposw.dll

I moved this to its own thread as where you posted was months old.

Without the "w" that would be a harmless DirectX component, however it may be wise to first forward this to McAfee Avert labs to be included in their database.

Instructions here:

Send a file to Avert for analysis:
http://vil.nai.com/vil/submit-sample.aspx

Basically zip the file, password protect it using the password infected and either submit it at that website or email it to [EMAIL="virus_research@avertlabs.com"]virus_research@avertlabs.com
It must be no more than 3mb in size.

Try some free anti-spyware tools:
http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html
and/or http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5

If they fail to remove it then use "Hijackthis" and post its log on any of the following forums for expert help:

Do not post the log here, we can't help!
