Re: XP Home Security 2012 - virus?

Hello,

I suppose you could remove it using Stinger. Or you can use Malwarebytes Antimalware, SUPERAntispyware or Hitman Pro to remove XP Home Security 2012 malware. Detailed removal instructions:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-win-7-antispyware-2012

http://deletemalware.blogspot.com/2011/06/remove-xp-antispyware-2012-xp-internet.html

If you have a clean computer, you should go with the first link. And if you don't, follow the second one.

Tools need to remove the rogue application.

1. FixNCR.reg  http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/reg/FixNCR.reg

2. Rkill (optional) http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

3. Malwarebytes Antimalware, SUPERAntispyware, Hitman Pro or any other anti-malware software.

Note: if you got a box saying "which program do you want to use to open this file", please run FixNCR.reg.

Good luck!
