Good Day forum,
I would like to get some direction on an issue I'm having regarding not being able to successfully run McAfee Stinger64 in my WinPE 3.0 pre-boot environment.
The platform in question is Windows 7 with Stinger64 v12.x
When attempting to run the Stinger64 AV in WinPE 3.0 I am getting the following error. I am however able to run other AV programs within the WinPE 3.0 environment. I have tried the following Stinger64 verstions: 184.108.40.2069, 220.127.116.119, and 18.104.22.1680 however all versions produce the same error. (see below)
I have also include the HTML dependencies found in the http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd744533%28WS.10%29.aspx article.
My only requirement at this point is that the storage method does have to be CD/DVD I am unfortunately not able to construct the pre-boot environment on a USB or external HDD. I have allocated 512MB of scratch space just in case there are any questions about the memory aspect.
Any help would be immensly appreciated as I have been working on a fix for about 3 weeks to no avail.
It seems that this is a "ePO" managed support question, I must be honest ,and admit that I have not the "Expertize "to answer your Question. Quite possibly another Moderator will pick up this thread and move to the appropiate Community, for better assistance/guidance.

I have no idea where to move this unless you are using a specific McAfee product as your main A/V. Hopefully someone from support will spot this and be able to answer.
This is where the Stinger pages steer people for support.Message was edited by: Ex_Brit on 21/06/14 4:30:55 EDT PM
Thank you for your response to my discussion question. In reply the only application in question at the moment would be the stand alone McAfee Stinger AV scanner. I hope this helps in figuring out where the best place for my question would be.
Excuse my ignorance but can someone explain what the Stinger64 bit ePO version found herehttp://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/free-tools/stinger.aspx is or what it is used for? I have been using the regular 64 bit version of Stinger thus far.
Actually consulting the Stinger pages, this is the right spot for it. The ePO version would be only for the Enterprise (commercial) environment where someone is using actual Endpoint Protection products.
Had you been using that I might have suggested asking in that section.
I'll email someone at the labs to see if they can help here as I have the faintest idea about use in Win PE setup.Message was edited by: Ex_Brit on 21/06/14 5:08:00 EDT PM
You mentioned this was created on a read-only media. Have you tried to load this image on USB and then try to execute Stinger from WinPE.
I want to eliminate the read-only media causing possible issues. As part of troubleshooting, could you disable the scan forrootkits option in Stinger preferences? When checked, Stinger will attempt to install a filter driver and the read-only media could be preventing this.
I don't think this is going to work - The first thing Stinger does is download the latest and greatest signature definitions - on read-only media it's not going to be able to store them anywhere.
