I trust this is XP SP3? (Anything less is no longer supported by Microsoft for security updates).
It should be cleanable in the normal manner however if not have you tried scanning with either VirusScan or Malwarebytes in Safe Mode?
Both work find in that mode.
The only difference with McAfee you have to right-click the taskbar icon and select "Run a Scan" and you wont see the normal window. Hovering over the taskbar icon will give you a progress report.
If you got an error stating that it couldn't be removed because it's "write-protected" then it is probably locked in your System Restore files, so disabling System Restore will get rid of it in that case. Re-enable it when sure it's gone.

Just wondering, is Adware-Onestep.a really an adware? If so how come i dont get any pop ups while surfing the internet?
One more thing, if it is an adware is it safe for me to log no to my itunes account?
I have no idea - only the virus removal people could poissibly answer that & even then I doubt it. Why don't you run Hijackthis and post its log on one of the following forums for expert advice?
Do not post Hijackthis logs here, we can't help with those!
