The problem began after I downloaded and run free programs from McAfee's website:
-McAfee Avert Stinger
-Klez removal tool
-Bugbear removal tool.
I run them, then deleted them. I also tried to download McAfee SiteAdvisor, but without success. It couldn't download from unknown reasons.
I can of course turn off the warnings on the computer, but that isn't preferable, because then I have to turn off ALL warnings.
I have a brand new 64 gig Dell with Windows 7.
Thanks for any help.
I assume you allowed it. Judging by what you listed there you were having malware problems.
There are some guidelines here: http://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-1294
If that doesn't help then download, install, update (very important) and run the FREE version of THIS software and let it remove everything it finds. Reboot if asked to after the scan.
Note: all of the previous line's instructions can be achieved in "Safe Mode with Networking" if for some reason the malware prevents normal mode functions. You can reach that by tapping F8 repeatedly while booting up and selecting that option from the menu that presents itself.
(Usually item #2 on that menu).
Meanwhile make sure you keep Windows totally up to date with both critical and non-critical updates.
I tried it all, but the problem still exists. :/
To check if any untoward processes are running on your machine I suggest downloading Hijackthis and posting its log on one of the independent forums below for expert advice:
Do not post Hijackthis logs here, we can't help with those!
Post the logs at a specialist Forum:
Be sure to read all the sticky announcements/instructions at the top of each malware forum!
Other than that contact Technical Support via online Chat through McAfee Support at the top of this page.
You're welcome and good luck.
