What is the risk of uninstalling anti virus software for a short time to check possible software conflict?

I have a printer that will not communicate with my computer. The advice I am getting from the printer's community is to uninstall my Macafee antivirus software to see if that is blocking communication between the computer and the printer.

I am concerned about whether my computer would then be vulnerable to virus attacks. Assuming I uninstalled it for, say 15 minutes or so, and then reintstalled it, would this be safe?

Is there a way to do it safely?

Hello

You should be fine as long as you have Windows, Third-Party or Router(hardware) firewall turned on.
