In April I reported McAfee was detecting W32/Waledac.gen.1 on full Spyware Doctor scans, But McAfee and S/d did not detect anything on their own scans. The other day it happened again and I noted that S/D was scanning a 3D Gamestudio folder which I hadn't used in years (just kept gettin restored everytime I restored a backup!) Any way I deleted the folder and surprise! the problem has gone!! grin I'd had that folder for years but it was only this year it started to flag problems on McAfee. Another of mans greatest mysteries? 😛

RE: W32/Waledac.gen.1-Update

McAfee updates the DAT files daily and may include improved and new detections.

When Spybot or Spyware Doctor scan your computer, it may find compressed files and extract them to detect what's in them. Since the files are extracted, McAfee may detect these extracted files in real time.
