Vundo, MyWebSearch,Cyber Defender

I have had  McAfee total protection for a couple years and now I seem to of found that it didn't stop the above mentioned . When I renewed my Subscription McAfees install gave a warning about the Cyber Defender problem and a tech said it was a virus and would send a removal tool though I haven't seen it in my mail yet.. Then I heard about malwarbytes and it found in the first stage 14 issues. 1 Vundo  Trojan, MyWebSearch malware. and as of yet malwarebytes hasn't found the cyber defender virus. My pc is running sluggish and before running malwarebytes the pop ups were unreal. every thing had popups/

I am currently running malwarebytes and est online scan.

I need to remove the cyber defender in order to install McAfees software.

Any idea what the removal tool is for the cyberdefender virus

Re: Vundo, MyWebSearch,Cyber Defender

When you used Malwarebytes did you make sure it was updated first and reboot immediately it finished to allow it to remove whatever it detected?    Try updating it & running it again.   Then download Hijackthis and post its log on one of the following forums for expert guidance:

Do not post Hijackthis logs here, we can't help with  those!

Re: Vundo, MyWebSearch,Cyber Defender

Cyber defender was lodged in registry under user under software under CDSL . Any ways I removed that and also ran F12 at startup and ran diagnostic and then for some how I enabled Boot Logging  . Well the computer restarts without any blue creen error messages though it start running the boot logging. Alot better than seeing that dull blue

Re: Vundo, MyWebSearch,Cyber Defender

You must be trying to attach it to a post, you have to copy and paste it (the text of the log) in a post and only on their malware removal forum.

Which forums are giving you the trouble?  They all have clear instructions on what to do hence the line in my HJT post above:

Are you sure you are signed in?  I can post there OK.  Perhaps membership is subject to moderation, do you recall seeing any prompts when you joined stating that there could be a delay before you can post?

Try posting a comment in http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showforum=12 stating the problems you are having trying to post, don't post the HJT log there though.
