Hello, I am very disappointed with my McAfee product, after being infected with this virus for 3 days McAfee still scans as 100% clean. I need help to remove this virus as I am a paying customer and believe that I should not have to pay for another virus protection program that tells me it can wipe out the Vista Security virus problem.
You don't have pay anything more.
These fake anti-malware work in such a way that none of the antivirus applications can catch them easily.
There is no such thing as a 100% malware-proof machine, so arm your self with some extra antimalware applications such as Malwarebytes or SuperAntispyware, but only use the free versions as the paid ones often clash with antivirus applications.
A removal guide here will help as this fakeware belongs to the same category: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-win-7-internet-security-201 1
Scroll down that page and read it all as the first links you see are advertising.
McAfee also has an application called GetSusp which has had much success against these fake antimalware pests. Join THIS group if you want to find out about it.
The actual download is available HERE.
Thanks for the advice, I followed all the instruction, downloaded and ran Rkill and MalwareBytes, MB said it found 3 trojans and I was able to delete them, (Thank you), however this program did not mention anything about the "False Alert" c:\windows\iun6002.exe file that McAfee Stinger said could not be repaired... Do I still have a problem?
Run Hijackthis and post a log on one of the following forums for expert advice. The chances are it's gone but no reason not to take precautions.
Do not post Hijackthis logs here, we can't help with those!
