Just recently bought McAfee Total Protection 2012 just to be on the safe side. Earlier today I noted that when I tried to search anything on google all the links I cliked on got redirected to a site called Happili with sometimes going to other shady sites. I tried the obvious and deleted my cookies and did a full scan with m McAfee product but nothing was resolved. Tried searching for help and all that I found is that people think its a virus but I am unable to dwell any further than the titles of links since everytime I click one I get sent to happili.com. Tried searching how to contact Mcafee for help but didnt realize I had to Pay $90 for a person to help me, figured buying their product would come with some assistance. Any help would be appreciated, my brother and I both depend on my laptop for homework and research .
Thanks for helping. I have tried malwarebytes, did a full scan with total protection, tdsskiller, and used combo fix but so far the problem continues. Is there any other things I can do? While searching the community it was stated that Norton had found a solution to the problem but that it wasnt stated how to solve it.
Have you tried the stinger program that is mentioned here
Also try the bleeping computer site
You may want to check the Hosts file under C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc to make sure that there are no static dns entries in there. Im not sure if typical maware tools clean this file or not, but i have seen static dns entries in this file before which caused website forwarding issues like the one you are describing. If you cant resolve your issue with normal malware tools you may want to consider system restore, its not preferred for obvious reasons but infections can get pretty deep where is almost counterproductive to keep trying to clean it. Good luck.
Thanks, yeah Im checking some of system files and seeing if they seem odd. Saw a youtube video on how to check for some possible solutions to the happili error and trying that right now.
