Trojan virus periodic accidents

Have windows xp sp 3
I have Mcafee Comcast Security (file protection, internet & network, email and IM) installed.
Get periodic message from Mcafee, that Trojan virus removed. The last message from Mcafee suggested that it can't remove some application from my system, and suggested to remove it using add/remove from CP.
Nevertheless, I have periodically web sites popping up such as Veterans.org or similar...
Rebooting did not help.

Any suggestion?

TIA

RE: Trojan virus periodic accidents

Download, update and run the free version of these two tools and let them remove everything they find. Don't freak out if the first one finds tons of stuff, probably mostly tracking cookies which are mainly harmless.

Reboot when asked to.

See if those help.
