Did you mean:

Trojan.Win32.Startpage.fg

I have this virus and it keeps making false system alerts pop up. Does anyone know how to remove this? My McAfee anti-virus doesn't find it when I scan my computer.... it's driving me nuts!

help please, either with manual removal steps or suggestions of where I can download something that will get rid of it.

Same Here!

I just received the same virus and have taken multiple actions to get rid of it, but it's still here! I'll be sure to post an update if I get rid of it any time soon....

RE: Same Here!

It's known to McAfee as "Startpage-DX"

If you have XP or Vista and your McAfee is totally up to date try disabling System Restore and booting to Safe Mode and initiating a scan there by going to My Computer, right-clicking the hard drive and selecting Scan from the drop-down menu.
All you'll see is an extra taskbar icon. Hover over it to get a progress report.

If that doesn't help try running some anti-spyware tools:

and/or

These will be useful in the future so keep them and update them frequently.

If all that doesn't help then use Hijackthis and post its log on any of the following forums for help:

RE: Thanks!

That's good to know. I would keep it around and updated for future use.
