Our computer was acting up so I ran an additional McAfee scan. It came up clean. I then ran a MS Onecare Live scan which showed computer was infected by Trojan.Win32/FakeXPA. One Care was not able to remove it and recommended running updated security. My McAfee is as updated as it can be but will not pick up this Trojan virus. Why is that? And how do I get rid of the virus?

Re: Trojan.Win32/FakeXPA

McAfee knows it as FakeAlert-AB.dldr & it's been on the books since last January. shows that it should have been detected.

If you know the location of the file try submitting it to the Threat Center:

If not, then try downloading, updating and running the free versions of these two tools:

Let them remove anything they find and reboot if asked to immediately.
