Did you mean:

SCUDownloader.exe

I’m sure this has been brought up before and I searched for it - coming up with thousands of general .exe posts.

My question: McAfee finds it as a threat but cannot delete it. How do I remove it? TIA!

I know it has to do with Iolo and System Mechanic.

Re: SCUDownloader.exe

Hello,

Currently no antivirus vendor finds it malicious:

https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/34cca8e3522ba9aa5df11fc433f7610ec7fe5b18df462c6b78e192ffe750d17f/d...

Most probably it was detected as Artemis with suspicious behavior but it was white listed afterwards.

This is some additional information I found:

https://www.freefixer.com/library/file/SCUDownloader.exe-121726/

Regarding cleaning process, I think you can manually browse and delete that file. If you suspect there is something else associated with it, you can run Autoruns to find additional files, registries or tasks related.

In case above information was useful or answered your question, please select "Accept as Solution" in my reply, or give a Kudo. Thanks!
Nino
