Reporting a False Positive File to Mcafee Artemis!6E5723AFD5EA

Hi,

I would like to report a false positive file.This is part of a legimatesoftware and mcafee is flagging the files as Artemis!6E5723AFD5EA.

I had reported this to virus_research@avertlabs.com as you have instructed.I had contacted other vendors as some of them had flagged the file as malicious,they realized the mistake and removed it from their listing.

I had send 2 mails to this address no reply has been received yet.

Why is such a Reputed firm like Mcafee takes outside opinion apart from own their customers so lightly.

Please do something about it.

http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100095 is the document I found as far as dealing with your issue.

They are usually pretty prompt with analyzing these files but maybe there is something that needs further investigation.

There is always an automatic scan and reply unless you did not follow the correct submission method and password protect the zip file with infected as the password.

When you get the reply anser it changing the subject to False +ve and name of detection. Say why you think it is false and post your analysis ID here.

If no reply in 3 days post back and 1 of teh mods will ping a labs tech.

Thread moved to the Malware Discussion > Artemis area for better attention from that department also altered all the post headers to reflect the Artemis number for clarity and to expedite a solution.

If you did not get the auto reply please resend the file. You should get a reply back with an analysis number as without that I cannot jump you up the queue.
