I seem to have managed to get rid of the FakeVirus Alert using a variety of free anti-malware and registry cleaning software (Malwarebytes, A-squared, Advanced System Care etc). However, I still cannot acesss the internet under the main user ID I use on this computer (I can access it in safe mode and under my other user ID). I am getting the message "Internet Explorer cannot Display the Webpage". It does not seem to be an IE specific problem as I cannot access the internet using Safari either. Any ideas? Many thanks.
If you have access from safe mode this article may help.
There is also an option to click a fix it button and let their program do it for you.I have never used the fix it tool,so can`t tell you how well it works.But there is manual instructions to fix from microsoft also. Good luck Jack
