RemAdm-PSKill

Hi, I am new to this forum/community so I'm sorry if I've posted this in the wrong area, I'm not finding this forum easy to navigate....

I have McAfee Internet Security 2010 and when I run a full scan I get 'RemAdm-PSKill', I have googled this and found a forum that suggests if you have HP software you'll get this, I currently have a HP monitor 'HPw1907v' I have messaged hp via their forum and and asked to see if I have 'Backweb' in my add/remove programmes and 'killwind.exe' as a file, I have neither so if anyone else is getting this with HP could you please advice what to do, should I add it to 'trusted' after I do my next scan. Would be grateful to hear from anyone. Cheers

I would suggest that it currently looks like you have been infected. Please see http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_99921.htm.

Given the fact RemAdm-PSKill'  is found, there must be a file that triggers this. What file is this and what action is taken to deal with this file?

If it is deleted, the issue should go away, but if it was part of a legitimate HP application this may now stop working.

Please provide more information on this.

Looks like the issue was resolved.

However if you need further assistance in any way regarding detections please start a new thread. Or if  you need to submit any suspicious file, please follow the instructions given here (https://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-2752).

Also send us the analysis ID so that we can follow it up.
