I am going to piggy-back off Foreman. I have been inundated with viruses over the past week, but narrowed the number of detections down to 3, all of which are prefixed by 'Artemis!'. I have been researching this for several hours now and can not find a way to delete these items. FYI, the detection names are as follows:
Any advice on how to get rid of these would be greatly appreciated.
Branching this as a new thread.
Are you able to submit these files either using the McAfee product you have installed or send them over to us at http://www.webimmune.net?
Also are you seeing the detections when you run a full scan on your machine, or are you seeing pop-ups saying the files are infected?
Artemis is the new-ish name for the Active Protection component of VirusScan. When something is detected 'heuristically' and VirusScan isn't sure about it it consults an online database and if it still think it could be dangerous it quarantines it and labels it Artemis!xxxxxxxx where xxxx can be just about anything depending on where it indexes it.
It is explained here: http://community.mcafee.com/message/98519#98519
If you think it is an incorrect analysis then read here: http://community.mcafee.com/message/6645#6645 where you can see how to disable it if you wish to, not recommended, however.
