i am a keen gamer, and recently looking on some forums i seen a thing called the black internet. all i want to know is that mcafee can detect it and get rid off it. i am now paranoid about what sites i go to and keep checking my process list in task manager constantly. i really hope it can detect iton 02/08/10 17:55:11 CDT
I believe that 'The BlackInternet' is a rootkit although the web is bit vague about it. Most antivirus applications would have issues with that sort of thing, in other words may or may not detect it.
I don't see it listed by that name in the McAfee database.
Should you ever find McAfee NOT detecting anything it should and you know the location of the offending object follow the instructions here: How to submit samples to McAfee Labs.
Even then extra steps may be needed to rid yourself of a rootkit - always best to search for solutions online as often it involves rather complicated procedures.
Always keep your system and software totally up to date.
Are you OK and just asking about this?
