Possible False Positive - Artemis!0F0B819ED357 (Webroot beta)

Jump to solution

This is the Webroot Beta test.

It detected the same thing both when I downloaded it from their web site as webrootcloudpublicbeta.exe and when it was installed at C:\Program Files\Webroot\WRSA.exe.

It is digitally signed by Webroot and details calls it Webroot Cloud Antivirus 3.9.1.85

Webroot says a lot of McAfee customers are getting this false positive and said they can't do anything about it so I have to ask you.  I looked at other threads that say we can't override this and allow it without turning off the heuristic completely.  I really don't want to lower my protection, but forcing me to choose one or the other like McAfee is doing doesn't seem fair and is probably illegal somehow, so I'm hoping this can get fixed soon.

Hi

Artemis false has been suppressed on this file WRSA.exe please allow 30mins for replication on your network

McAfee(R) Artemis technology provides real-time protection that secures enterprises and consumers from threats as they strike and much quicker than traditional signatures can be deployed. As Artemis is updated in real-time there is no requirement to wait for a full DAT update nor to use an EXTRA.DAT intermediate solution. Simply wait approximately 30 minutes and this false will no longer exist or trigger on your system. Depending on the network settings.

Thank you Neha!!!

I just wonder, since this is a beta, they'll probably put out updates a lot.  Is Artemis going to panic everytime the update the beta?
