RE: Pls Help Mcafee says virus found but scan and nothing found.

Hi aggro,
It sounds like you are in a bit of trouble. I'll post some recommended free tools below and you can choose what you want. They are all good.
Can you tell me what version/engine and DAT your Virusscan is? Right-click the "M" go to Viruscan/About.
It might be an idea to try running Viruscan and the tools below in Safe Mode (tap F8 repeatedly while PC boots up). Before doing it though you have two choices in XP
1. Try going back to before the trouble started using System Restore
2. Disable System Restore, clean out your temporary internet files in Internet Explorer Tools/Internet Option/General then do the "Safe Mode" scans.

RE: Pls Help Mcafee says virus found but scan and nothing found.

What can happen is that a file is downloaded from the Internet, Mcafee deletes it before it runs, and therefore you won't find any infection. We'd need more information to determine if this is really the case though.

There has to be something wrong. Can you remember the name of the infection?

RE: Pls Help Mcafee says virus found but scan and nothing found.

o macafee jus said it has detected a virus while i was running adaware scan but didnt say the name of the virus then later on i scan w macafee and it dosnt find anything

Is a virus causing my photo uploaders on Myspace and Facebook to shut down web site

At first it was my myspace that was acting weird, when I clicked on the upload photos it would close my Internet Explorer saying it needed to to protect my computer, so I have only been able to upload photos on my Facebook account until now, its doing the same thing except it started with a pop up saying to download Active X photo uploader from Facebook Inc. and click here at the top of the page if I trusted the website or I could use the simple uploader which was what I did and I uploaded without a problem until all of a sudden, when I went to upload from Facebook like I did just a couple of days before and it started freezing up and not responding, I had to close and start up Internet Explorer again and I tried to upload a couple more times, its the same thing every time and my computer has been scanning and not finding anything but I think Im missing something. This is my mom's PC and she found some Viruses before and she thinks she got rid of them all and one of them she found is called "About Blank" and from what I looked up about it its hard to get rid of, I think she still has that one, any input would be appreciated, Im guessing she needs to upgrade her security big time, any suggestions will also be appreciated.:o
