New Windows 32 virus

I was hit with the New Windows 32 virus which was detected by McAfee but was not stopped. the results was it blocked access to most of my computer. As fast as McAfee quarantined the virus it was replicating itself and blocking opening programs, selecting windows fire wall lock down was the only thing I could open. had to wipe the C drive and install from restore system and applications.
Going to McAfee site is like walking in knee deep mud trying to find anything which is nothing new, renewing McAfee and wasting my time on their site is probably not going to happen. I am not a happy camper because I can get this kind of protection from free anti virus programs easy, goodbye McAfee, program and site.

RE: New Windows 32 virus

I'm sorry you had so many troubles with a virus and site navigation.

For site Feedback and concerns, please try here: https://secure.nai.com/apps/about/web_feedback/web_feedback_form.asp

To prevent most viruses from getting on your computer, make sure you...
- have a working firewall
- keep all software you use (Flash, Acrobat, Java, Windows, ect) up-to-date
- Keep your antivirus/antispyware up-to-date and enabled
- Don't run programs from locations you do not trust. Always go to legitimate sources.

If you decide to use another Antivirus, please be sure to check some of the following resources showing some comparison results of AntiVirus testing.

http://www.westcoastlabs.com/downloads/productTestReport_0057/Comparative.pdf

In most of these McAfee tends to do a better job than many free solutions and usually is the top standings.
