The above is at best only partially correct (I won't bother to explain).
I REALLY wouldn't recommend paying McAfee for removal of the infections, they are not good at it and it can be a draining experience to go through that process.

There is no need to pay for virus removal unless it is absolutely necessary and you are really desperate.

Run the free versions of these two tools and have them remove anything they find:
