Need some help

My desktop reads "Warning! Spyware threat has been detected on your PC. Your computer has several fatal errors due to spyware activity..." I also get a caution sign in the task bar with a popup that makes claims about my system running slowly because of spyware, etc. There are also popup windows for two fake Windows Security Centers, one red, one looks almost legit, warning me about trojandownloader.xs and other files. I deleted a file, C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/pt.htm, that kept poping up in IE advertising an antivirus software after these other popups. I also tried deleting the "default" file that is taking over my desktop, but it just came back.

I have Windows XP (SP2) and McAfee 12 in 1 Total Protection. I've ran Smitfraudfix and Antipuper. I've tried Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool as well. None of these have worked. Please help, this sucks. sad

RE: Need some help

Try one more anti-spyware application, this one is pretty good: http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

If that fails then your best bet is to download Hijackthis and post its log on any of the following forums:
