It may be necessary to sacrifice the software bundle, temporarily at least, in that case.
Did you try scanning in Safe Mode to see if it would go that way? (Tapping F8 while booting up).
Did it give you a path to this? If so could you post that info?
Please include the following information: What is your operating system and service pack level and are you up to date with Microsoft Updates?
Right-click your McAfee taskbar icon and go to each application and give the full details from clicking "About".
If you have the new Security Center please double-click the taskbar icon and then "View Details".
