- When prompted, choose to save the file to a convenient location on your hard disk (such as your Desktop folder).

- When the download is complete, navigate to the folder that contains the downloaded Stinger file, and run it. Windows ME/XP/Vista users read this first.

- The Stinger interface will be displayed.

- If necessary, click the Add or Browse button to add additional drives/directories to scan. By default the C: drive will be scanned.
- Click the Scan Now button to begin scanning the specified drives/directories.
- By default Stinger will repair all infected files found.

You can also run Stinger with Artemis technology enabled. I'd recommend running Artemis on Very High but in report only mode in the first instance.
Here's how:
Go to the preferences button
For the on virus found options, select the report only radio button.
From the heuristic network check sensitivity level drop-down menu select very high – this will enable Artemis.
Note – if the machine does not have an internet connection or external DNS path Artemis will not function.
Click ok.
If necessary, click the Add or Browse button to add additional drives/directories to scan. By default the C: drive will be scanned.
Click the Scan Now button to begin scanning the specified drives/directories.
