When trying to update Malwarebytes I keep receiving Error 732(0,0).
I contacted them and they say that McAfee software is preventing update.
They also advise me to add the following malwarebyte files.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes'Anti-Malware\rules.ref
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' AntiMalware\mbamgui.exe
C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
Does anyone know where to add these and how?
I've never known that to happen but it would only be the firewall which is possibly to blame. I'm assuming home products?
Double-click the taskbar icon to open SecurityCenter
Click Advanced Menu (bottom)
Click Configure (left)
Click Internet & Network (top left)
Click Advanced (right)
Click Program Permissions (left)
Look for mbam.exe and allow full access, Apply and OK.
If it's not there use the add button.Message was edited by: Ex_Brit on 11/30/09 4:43 AM
I'm running Vista Home Premium, I already allowed mbam.exe full access and do not have anyother
security/spyware software other than McAfee. Problem still persists.
Well then I can't think of what it could be as MBAM is recommended by us Mods every day and noone has ever posted this problem before. Have you set SiteAdvisor browser add-on to Protected Mode? Or have you set Internet Explorer to tight security? Most security software relies on Internet Explorer being at its basic default settings.
If this doesn't help then you could try Technical Support Chat via the McAfee Support link at top of page, it's free, or as MBAM again as I doubt it's anything McAfee that's causing this.
Also, don't use registry cleaners as they often cause inexplicable problems such as this.Message was edited by: Ex_Brit on 12/1/09 6:09 PM
Have you tried running the manual updater from the link below? Download the file to your desktop, then RIGHT click on the file, choose "Run As Administrator" from the menu, then simply run it.
Clicking on the link below will immediately start the download dialogue window.
Hope this helps.

Good job and glad we could help.. If you'd like, you can save that link in your Bookmarks/Favorites and use it whenever you'd like to update Malwarebytes.. It's kept current by the Malwarebytes folks.
Hey EX-Brit, I noticed on post 3 in this thread you suggest against the use of registry cleaners.I was wondering do you use the quick clean on Mcafee?I have ccleaner, but i don`t use the registry portion of the program.I basically use it to clean temp files and history. This is only the 1st tab of the cleaner.Although i guess Mcafee would serve the same purpose. Thanks newjack
