Re: LIVE SECURITY PLATINUM -Virus infected

This document from McAfee will assist you in resolving your issue

Please follow the steps outlined and run the McAfee Stinger scan which the document mentions. If nothing works then try to run the free version of this program www.malwarebytes.org

Let us know if this works for you

Re: LIVE SECURITY PLATINUM -Virus infected

This program can disable AV programs so you may have to install them off an usb stick and use different file and folder names or follow the below if stinger fails.

Re: LIVE SECURITY PLATINUM -Virus infected

If you can't stop the malicious process of LiveSecurity Platinum rogue you may use the free application called Process Killer(Pkiller.exe)

This is a free application which can be downloadedfrom this link.

Rename pkiller.exe to iexplore.exe and then runiexplore.exe

This should help you terminate the malicious processof Live Security Platinum rogue. Then you may download McAfee to remove this horrible virus from your PC, or other security program you like.

Re: LIVE SECURITY PLATINUM -Virus infected

Could you please run Getsusp tool again on that machine and post the scan results?

Re: LIVE SECURITY PLATINUM -Virus infected

Another user reported that VirusScan apparently now covers this infection here:  https://community.mcafee.com/message/249034#249034
