New to the forum - question - I just read an article about the - Kneber botnet - I've searched the Mcafee Site for information on this malware and I cannot find a single article. I'm assuming Mcafee hasn't heard of this threat or their virus protection software cannot do anything about it. The information on the internet seems to indicate - this malware has been able to inflitrate and steal user login info. from sites like Yahoo - Facebook - etc Does anyone have any info. on this subject - i.e. - is there any way to find out if your login info has been compromised and is there any program that can detect and/or remove this on an individuals computer - thanks - mick
I was also sent a news article regarding the Kneber botnet from a coworker. From my checking of other sites, this may also be classified as the Zeus trojan and McAfee has details on their steps for remediation. I'm not confident this is related to the 'Operation Aurora' information. If I learn more I will post.
Thanks for this information - but it raises another question - what is - mcafee anti-malware and web security software - I have Mcafee Virus Scan 13.15 - Firewall - Security Center - and Site Advisor............................do those contian the aforementioned Mcafee anti-malware etc?
