Internet Explorer redirect

I have been trying to remove the virus or trojan that is causing my redirects to other sites in google and yahoo.

I have downloaded and run the following:

Malware - found and removed various items

SuperAntivirus - found and removed various items

Avira - found and removed various items

None of these have solved the ultimate problem.

I recently downloaded the Hitman Pro 3.5.  It found 2 trojans:

..\temporary internet files\..\InstallAVg_880181[1].exe

It wanted to delete these files but I cancelled prior to executing the delete. I understand that the atapi.sys file is a system file and should not be deleted. Since it is infected, how can I clean the trojan?

Any assistance is appreciated.

Re: Internet Explorer redirect

Hello Louise,

In order for us to research this question, please send us a sample of suspicious files for analysis, in a password-protected ZIP file (password - infected). You can find detailed instructions for how to do this at

. In most cases it can respond almost instantly with a solution. This may also be the best option if you're having a problem with a gateway scanner stripping or blocking your file-sample.
