I am receiving a Security Central malware/virus on my computer.  Mcafee is not picking it up.  What can I do?  Thanks

am running the malwarebytes anti malware now...This looks promising...Not out of the woods yet, http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-security-central has step by step directions and I am following it now

Good luck 3streams.   M/Bytes should help greatly.  These things fool the majority of antiivirus engines unfortunately.

Hi 3streams,

Please run THIS tool,

Save it to your Desktop.

Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.

A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

If you do this I can find why you have gotten the infection in the first place,

but the problem is resolved. I was instructed to load the free version of  malwarebytes anti malware, and it picked it up and fixed the problem

Malwarebytes doesn't have Real time scanning, unless you have the PRO version,

Therefore, it doesn't prevent it from happening, it just intervenes when you have it on your system.

If we find the root of the problem, then the Fake Anti Viruses will be prevented instead of getting in.
