How to scan for virus using DOS for file 5420xdat

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to scan my system in DOS using file 5420xdat. I have instructions for Virusscan 6.0 and they do not seem to work for Virusscan 13. If anyone has the instructions on how to extract and dos commands on how to do a manual scan I would greatly appreciate your time and assistance.

Thank You,
JHM

Dos instructions are dependant on which operating system you have, not which VirusScan version or DAT.
DOS Scan Instructions are here: http://community.mcafee.com/showthread.php?t=157596

He says he has VirusScan 13. That, however, is irrelevant when doing a DOS scan.

Follow the instructions extremely carefully by the way. Any deviation will give errors.

It's an SDAT file you want.

I'm moving this to Virus Discussions & Removal Assistance as a better spot.
