Help me again

Hello , I have a small notepad with windows 7 starter, I have been infected with the virus ( which I think is a virus ) MS Removal Tool , I have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on my notepad but cannot open it , this removal tool keeps telling me i am infected and cannot open anyprogram can someone help to get rid of this please , I thought I was protected I have Mcafee total protection installed is there a better program out there to protect me from this unwanted programsplease help ......

Moved to Malware Discussion > Home User Assistance.

There's an excellent removal guide here:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-ms-removal-tool  (Scroll down the page - don't click the first links you see as they are advertising which helps pay for their website)

Try booting to Safe Mode with Networking by tapping F8 repeatedly while booting up, it's second on the ensuing menu usually.

Call up Malwarebytes, update it, and run it.  It works fine in that mode.  Let it remove anything it finds.

Afterwards if you think it might be still around follow the instructions in that link.

When clean make sure you install SP1 if not already done, help here:  https://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-2205
