Generic!Artemis file

Hi,

I have noted that the Generic!Artemis is likely to occur more frequently at the moment, which is certainly happening on my machine.

However, I do not know how to access the file to zip and send it to McAfee.

Could you please help me with this.

Thanks.

RE: Generic!Artemis file

Hi,

We are really sorry for the convenience. Don’t worry if you are unable to make it as zip.
Navigate to http://webimmune.net/default.asp, Login if you have already registered with McAfee if not click on Register a New User on the left top and register by using a username (email) and a password

Once you are done with the registration you will be able to login to website and just click on browse and upload the infected files to McAfee Avert

Generic!Artemis problem

Hi,

Thanks for your help - my problem is that I don't know where to upload the file FROM ... I cannot find it.

I have registered and logged on to the WebImmune, etc. but still am not able to upload file. Where would I find it? I know it sounds lame but I cannot find the file that shows on the warning.

Re fixing ...

By the way, I chatted on line with a technician, who told me to remove all the quarantined programmes and tracking cookies (which I duly did) and said that that would stop me from getting the notice. However, the security still keeps showing up.

RE: Re fixing ...

You have to locate the path for the file that is been detected by McAfee in the system as Generic!Artemis
You have to login to the http://webimmune.net/default.asp, and then click on the submit the file in the right hand panel if you are not able to do then you have to sent an email.

E-Mail Submission: Unlike Web Immune, when submitting samples via E-mail all samples must be packaged in a .ZIP file. When creating this .ZIP file, it is important to understand that the .ZIP can be no more than 3 megabytes in size and can contain no more than 30 files. Additionally, any .ZIP file created must be password-protected using the password infected. Failure to follow these guidelines will cause your submission to be rejected.

Note: If you are submitting a Spyware sample, the subject of the email must be MAS Content.

When submitting the sample via E-mail, you can send it to the global virus_research@avertlabs.com e-mail address, or you can send the sample to the additional regional addresses below:

In the UK, send to: vsample@avertlabs.com
In Germany send to: virus_research_de@avertlabs.com
In Japan send to: virus_research_japan@mcafee.com
In Australia send to: virus_research_apac@avertlabs.com
In the Netherlands: virus_research_europe@avertlabs.com
