Hello,
please forgive for my English, I am using an on-line translator.
McAfee and McAfee-GW-Edition are generating a false report of a virus in application that has been developed by us, Quopia.exe.
The name of the false positive is Generic.dx!731D7EBDDD49, as can be seen on Virustotal - https://www.virustotal.com/pt-br/file/7883fe2e7e93e2f88652d174f7781fcfc249a42057d8a34d1ee9e8b73d9613...
I already sent a "Detection Dispute Submission", on 11/05/2014, but the problem persists.
Please, could you do something about that?
Thank you very much for your attention.
Best regards.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Thanks for reporting. The false positive has been suppressed.
If you are a McAfee customer you should have access to McAfee GetClean Tool, The McAfee GetClean program aims to prevent false positives on your COE (Common Operating Environment) image files.
Check out the Introduction to GetClean here.

Hi Rich,
please forgive for my English, I am using an on-line translator.
Sorry, but I'm not a McAfee customer. The problem is that the potential users of our application are complaining about the McAfee's false positive.
Thank you for your attention.
Best regards.
I might add that if the OP is the Author/Owner of the software in question. One can also submit by following these instructions: Detection Dispute Submission | McAfee Labs Either way should work.....

CD
Hi,
please forgive for my English, I am using an on-line translator.
I have already followed the instructions and sent a sample to "virus_research@mcafee.com", on 10/16/2014, but no effect. So I sent a "Detection Dispute Submission", on 11/05/2014, but still no effect.
I'm posting here and bothering all of you with that because I have the hope that one of you can "make the magic" and solve the problem...
Thank you for your attention.
Best regards.
I noticed that this past October you had submitted a False Artemis! that analyzed/Cleared. Do you by chance have a Analysis ID #, or Service Request #? Unfortunately as much as everyone thinks, we can work no "Magic".
Having said that, if you should have either of the two mentioned. It would greatly assist us in attempting to contact a Technician at McAfee Labs to check .
Is this the same Software that was cleared back in October of last year? Quopia.exe If so something must have changed in the installer/unpacker.

Hi,
please forgive for my English, I am using an on-line translator.
No, it is not the same software that have a false Artemis! and was cleared back in October of last year. The software that was cleared is the installer (Quopia_Instalador.exe) of the software Quopia.exe.
This time, the false positive is about the Quopia.exe, the executable of the backup software.
The file (Quopia.exe) was sent to analysis on 10/16/2014 and the Analysis ID is 9172407.
About the "magic", I'm very sorry if it sounded offensive, was not my intention.
Thank you very much for your attention!
Best regards.
