False or not artemis/JavaTcmdHelper

Jump to solution

Hi,

On my mobile motor g 3 (2015)

I get the next message (since 2 days), see the picture belowe:

on my mobile I get a virus messageScreenshot_20160929-071437.png

All my settings are right (only install from Google play) and I have for 11 months mcafee live safe on all my devices.

I did disconnect (Uitschakelen) the app, but the message came back every night

JavaTcmdHelper version 6.0-36

detection name: Artemis!f580cadc3dc1

packet name: com.motorola.android.jvtcmd

Can this be a false alarm or is it serious ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Frans

Some searches give the following

com.motorola.android.jvtcmd Mobile App Threat Report | Trustlook SkyEye

That said you can submit the file via

though I am unsure how to do that on a mobile. Is it a file or an app?

I will ask a tech for a comment

Do you know how to submit this detection if it is not a file?

If selvan not on duty can you please comment

Same issue issue as well

Frans - that's identical to my message, and it appears it's happening on the same phone model too.

Peacekeeper - I saw that search, and one for an earlier version of the helper, and each time its threat level has increased - as this version is now 6.0, I  hope that doesn't mean the threat level has increased again!

I believe this is an app, not a file.

Thanks.

That was my feel that is why I called a tech to comment..  he may not be on today so will have to await his on day. I also jumped the gun and asked a Intel security labs tech to look at this thread.

@frans5au and @ashley_ramsden

Please contact support, prima facie it looks like a false positive. Support team may have to collect logs and have it escalated to higher tier for resolution/further action.

Cheers

Sanjay
