I am running Mcafee Total Protection on a desktop running Windows XP Provessional SP3. As of this morning, Mcafee has identified the file Minecraft_Server.exe as a trojan virus and has deleted the file and blocked any attempts to redownload it. This is a false positive and has been identified as sutch, only recently online, by other users. Would it be possible to get any oppinons and/or fixes to this issue? I would like to get back to being able to use this program again. I downloaded the file from the main Minecraft site at:
The file is linked to https://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftDownload/launcher/Minecraft_Server.exe
I am having the same issue. Several people have posted about this same problem on the Minecraft.net forums. I tried contacting McAfee technical support, but they were about as helpful as asking my dog to defrag my computer... Except my dog is less rude. I definatly will not renew my subscription to McAfee.
This file is classed by McAfee as Artemis!13DB67307A3D
There is a request in the Artemis discussion section to have it unclassified : https://community.mcafee.com/message/227092#227092
This thread will be moved to the Artemis section and locked; a note will be added to the other thread pointing to this one.
