McAfee hasdetected this potential threat from an application : NPPtoR from thesourceforge website (http://sourceforge.net/projects/npptor/). This program provides a connectionbetween Notepad++ (http://sourceforge.net/projects/notepad-plus/)and the statistics open source software R (http://cran.r-project.org/). I think the inner workings of thesoftware have made the trojan scanners suspicious.
Thanks for the response...I would like to submit the file, but McAfee won't even let me download it. As soon as the download starts, McAfee analysis rejects the file and deletes it. Any ideas?
Indeed, I've been following the instructions in that post, so I've already sent an email and submitted this post, here. I cannot turn off McAfee myself (I'm waiting for IT as we speak...or write, rather). Does the file need to be sent before anything is done by McAfee? In other words, will this get investigated with only an email and a posting in this forum?Message was edited by: biodave (fixed typo) on 2/12/14 9:21:40 AM CST
If you just sent the false Artemis email that's outlined in the bold type there that should be all that's needed. It takes them a while to process things though. I know it's frustrating having to wait.
