Another executable which is part of our connection application (Scomis Hosted Application Connector V5 | Frequently Asked Questions) in use daily by over 500 schools in England. From today it seems McAfee has decided it is a trojan :-(
If you have successfully submitted the File/Program in question. You should have received a Automated confirmation of having done so. With the confirmation that the File/Program is being analyzed, is a (Analysis id #, allow the appropriate time (4-5) business days and if not resolved, please post back the Analysis id #, and quite possibly we can expedite the process.

We seem to have been caught by an Artemis detection which I think is some kind of heuristic?
It is only happening in Windows 8 - why wouldn't the same version of McAfee with the same patch and DAT date be different detection in Windows 7?
Normally it would - perhaps you have different levels of Artemis sensitivity set for the two platforms?
Without knowing what McAfee products/versions you are using it's hard to say though.
clean installations of Windows 7 and 8.1 both windows updates to current, both installed fom the current VirusScan Enterprise 8.8 Patch 4 August 3rd update. No other options than default installation and initial DAT update during installation. Totally standalone, no EPO, etc.
