Facebook messenger

This morning I got an odd message on Facebook messenger that states "OMG is that you in this video" with a video icon.  This was from a family member that I am friends with on Facebook.  I viewed the message, immediately thought it was odd, and deleted it.  I did not play the video.  I confirmed that the family member did not send the message.  

I wanted to make sure that my iPhone is not compromised because of this. 

PS:  I tried typing this out on my iPhone and it did not show up in the forum post.  It was just a blank message.  I had to retype this on my computer.

If you didn't open the link or video in the message you should be fine, and deleting it was the right thing to do. Take a look at this article by the BBB which describes this tactic a bit:
